MS-21’s Russian Domestic Version in Acceptance Tests

In Russia, the United Aircraft Corporation (UAC) has begun acceptance tests of the MS-21 prototype, which is fully equipped with domestically produced Russian components as part of the import substitution program. The aircraft, with factory number 0013, was tested on the assembly line in Irkutsk and became the final member of the MS-21 experimental prototype series.
This aircraft, which made its first flight in December 2021, was the first MS-21 to feature wings made from Russian-made composite materials. The tests confirmed the quality of these materials, and the aircraft was moved into the development stage.
The MS-21 stands out as a strategic model developed by Russia as an alternative to the Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 in the medium-range passenger aircraft market.
